MEET THE TEAM BEHIND AID A PET
When Lorie formed AID a Pet in 1998 she probably never imagined how far it would grow, the thousands of people and animals it would help, and the many people who would donate money and time to help her mission. In the ensuing 20 years she has spearheaded an organization that is indispensable to the Frog Hollow section of Hartford. As a Registered Dietitian at the Charter Oak Health Agency, Lorie deeply believes that what people and their pets eat today determine their health tomorrow, and contributes to the well being of the whole community.
Over the past 20 years, many people have come to believe in the mission of AID a Pet and offered their assistance. The team has included area Animal Control Officers, veterinarians, people who work in animal rescue and individuals who live in and outside of Hartford. They have collected pet food, supplies, and money; helped distribute pet food in all kinds of weather; transported dogs and cats to the vet for emergencies or to be spayed/neutered. And, they have always offered outreach, care and advice to people while showing compassion toward their animals.
